This is cheesy, we know. But we both have said that we really would love to re-live our wedding day. It was a great celebration of our future life together.
It was just perfect to be surrounded by our family and friends in a day that was...simply put: FUN. That was our “theme”: FUN.

We implemented quite a few SMRT IDEAs on our wedding day and would love to share them with you in the coming days and weeks since we know it is officially wedding planning time (at least for all of those spring and summer weddings).
In this edition we want to mention a few of the vendors that brides and grooms usually hire for their wedding. As you know by now, we are cheap-Os and although the following methods helped us save some bucks, the main reason we decided to go the following routes for our wedding was to make it wayyy more personal.
THE DRIVER
One of Jill's Dad's good friends has a Jaguar. We aren't sure how it all came about, but we got to have this sweet ride from the church to the reception.
It was so nice to spend some extra quality time with these dear friends, but the best part were the cans that were created for the car:
That's right that one says BEER. Hahaha
Oh, also, the sign on display in the back of the car was actually from Jill's parent's wedding!!!
In our opinion this ride was way better than a limo. :)
PHOTOGRAPHER
Two of our dear friends from college are stellar photographers. We asked if they would be willing to photograph our wedding as their gift to us. Oh how thrilled we were when they agreed to this deal. It was just so nice to have someone we knew well to photograph the celebrations. It was much less awkward than having a stranger photograph us. It was also great because they visited the church and reception with us before the wedding to familiarize themselves with the sites.
They did an awesome job and we highly recommend asking your friends to help out on your wedding day. Chances are they will be happy to help out. We actually very happily videotaped one of our dear friends' wedding and then Eric edited it. It was fun to help celebrate their wedding doing something we enjoy.

DJ
We had attended a ton of weddings together before our own. Thanks to those experiences, there were a few concepts that we knew we did not want at our reception.
We love DJs, please don’t get us wrong, but sometimes, DJs can get a little awkward and almost take over the reception. Our DJ was awesome and pretty much let us do what we asked. And what we asked was for him to give the mic over to us and our some of our guests. When we arrived at the reception, we did our first dance right away and then spoke to our guests, thanking them for sharing in our celebration and asking them to mingle and have fun.
Then during the various “standard wedding activities” we asked some of our friends and family to introduce each of the different activities. This was a spectacular way to involve even more of our family and friends into our celebration. We are so glad we did this. Some of the stories our friends and family shared before introducing the activity were priceless and something we will treasure forever.
More SMRT IDEAs coming soon.
